Lexmark Unveils New Printers, Technology

Lexmark introduced three new printers including the P350 Portable Photo Printer, featuring new Evercolor II ink technology, and PerfectFinish Photo Paper as part of a photo printing system that produces photos of exceptional quality and durability. The Lexmark P350 has an estimated street price of $129.

The first to feature Lexmark's new Evercolor II pigmented ink technology, the P350 4-by-6-inch photo printer produces vibrant, borderless photos that print in as little as 75 seconds with up to 4,800 x 1,200 dots per inch resolution.

Evercolor II is a pigment-based ink system that is meant to be used with Lexmark's new PerfectFinish Photo Paper, a micro-porous photo paper that absorbs the inks quickly. Compared with conventional dye-based inks, the Evercolor II pigmented inks dry more quickly and are highly resistant to water. Together, Lexmark's Evercolor II inks and PerfectFinish Photo Paper yield high-quality photos that are remarkably resilient and durable – lasting for up to 100 years in a frame and up to 200 years in an album.

Small and stylish, the Lexmark P350 is tough enough for everyday use, with an array of features that allows consumers to view, edit, print, save, organize and share their digital photos. It operates either as a stand-alone unit or connected to a PC or Mac.

Consumers can print directly from memory cards, PictBridge compatible digital cameras, a USB flash drive or, with the purchase of an optional adapter, from a Bluetooth technology cell phone.

The large, adjustable 2.4-inch color display makes it easy to edit photos, using one-touch color fix and red eye reduction and the application of sepia, antique gray, antique brown and black and white effects. In addition, the Lexmark P350 is equipped with Lexmark's exclusive Fast Pics software to help users to enhance, print and manage their photos quickly and easily.

Color inkjet for under $50

Lexmark introduced the Z845 high performance Color Printer, a single-function inkjet that delivers sharp, crisp text, high-end graphics and photos at exceptional speeds, priced under $50.

Designed for budget-conscious consumers with high expectations for productivity, quality and reliability, the Lexmark Z845 delivers speeds up to 24 ppm black and 18 ppm color. It features borderless graphic and photo printing, as well as an optional color cartridge that provides six-color printing capabilities. Lexmark's exclusive Fast Pics and Imaging Studio Software make it easy for users to enhance, print and manage their photos.

With the Z845, Lexmark is offering inkjet consumers more choices than ever before to help reduce printing costs while also benefiting the environment.

· Users who purchase Lexmark Return Program cartridges (#28 black or #29 color) will receive a $4 up-front discount compared to alternative equivalent cartridges in exchange for agreeing to return the used cartridges only to Lexmark for remanufacturing or recycling. As an added bonus, consumers can also register to receive a free cartridge for every five cartridges of the #28 and #29 series that they return in a 12-month period.

· Users who prefer to recycle cartridges themselves can purchase alternative, non-discounted black and color cartridges (#28A and #29A).

· High-usage customers looking to lower per-page printing costs can choose high-yield #34 black and #35 color cartridges.

All of these cartridges can be returned to Lexmark free of charge for remanufacturing or recycling as part of the Lexmark Environmental Program.

In addition, the Lexmark Z845 is backed by the new Lexmark Protection Guarantee that features next-business-day replacement for up to one year, helping to ensure a printing experience that is as reliable as it is productive.

Lexmark introduced the Lexmark X5470 All-In-One with fax and photo, a feature-packed, four-in-one inkjet backed by the new Lexmark Protection Guarantee. This AIO has an estimated street price of $99.

The Lexmark X5470 sports a stylish, compact design for today's home office, while also delivering workhorse performance with print speeds up to 25 ppm black and 18 ppm color, a 10-sheet automatic document feeder, premium photo features and PC-free photo, fax and copy capabilities.

The Lexmark X5470 is backed by the new Lexmark Protection Guarantee that features next-business-day replacement for up to one year, helping to ensure a printing experience that is as reliable as it is productive.

For those seeking even higher-quality results, the Lexmark X5470 can create stunning six-color photos at resolutions up to 4,800 x 1,200 dots-per-inch on photo paper with an optional photo cartridge.

The Lexmark X5470 features the Lexmark Web Toolbar for users to print only what they need from the Web. With a few simple clicks, the Web Toolbar will automatically format Web pages to fit on a standard page without cropping and losing text or other information.
